Go for silver. He will get a "race licence" with that for free. This will cover all his race needs. I would ring up, seems simpler. :P

yes silver will do, you are forced to buy silver for BMX any way for the insurance that is worthless.
for £21 new members it's worth it till next year when it's £41 i think but this includes a national eligible race licence as well..

only £13 for the first year ??

so they don't want kids to race under 9yrs old yet they get cheaper membership and a race licence as well..
BC need to sort out their priorities, they either want mini racers or they don't. :D

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Much appreciated.
Trying to get my head around all the rules and recs!!!...

I will go with the silver membership.

So it's worth joining now to get it at a cheaper rate?

Am I right in thinking he will be able to race regionally for his first year in racing in novice? Which is done for him to gain racing experience. He is doing his local club races to get him started. I am entering him in his first regional race in January. I am as excited as him!!!

Some regions don't have novice classes in the winter series. Ea, for example. Race him in expert, if so. Very laid back in winter racing. He will be fine.
