Try Microsoft Security Essentials- tis free

You could also try on top of Microsoft Security Essentials a software package called AVG Antivirus for 30 days, it will remove ALL trojans/malware

AVG & Avast both do free editions which are adequate and dont drain your pc of resources, use firefox as browser with noscript installed and control which sites run javascript etc. For malware try malwarebytes free edition http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Personally never trusted free anti-virus. If you want a cheap excellent protection, go on ebay and type in Kaspersky Pure 2012, cost me about £13 compared to £50 Norton crap, and its bloody brilliant (Y)
