My theory is Boys/Men would spend the prize money on more bikes, where as Girls/Women would spend the prize money on shoes make up handbags etc
so therefore the Boys/Men are spending wisely where as Girls/Women are wasting the money...

Trying not to sound sexist, but I think it's done on the same principal as football... Men's football has a bigger crowd following than women's a.k.a bum's on seats therefore mens BMX brings in a higher revenue than women's therefore bigger prize money.

It's all wrong but I think it's a case of that's how the cookie crumbles...

Yeah but ask anyone to the UK to name a famous BMX rider and 90% of them will say Shanaze , the other 10% will say Andy Ruffell :D .

Shanaze is the biggest draw in BMX in this country, fact, and when I've been abroad they all want to see her there as well.

But Elite men go over the big jumps...
