Can't believe its six years already, I do wish I had of kept in touch with Winnie.

All got good stories to tell, just wish he was still around.

Like i said on the other thread , i was lucky enough to be team-mates with winnie twice , on the Invert team and oddessy team.
Bmx is sadly missing one of its genuine nice guys from the sport.
Never too busy for anybody , always smiling.
Missed by many

He got me into racing back in 83. Always patient and had time for everyone. Great man.

Just found out today that winnie died. Must say its put a gloomer on an otherwise beautiful and sunny day..... My last memory of Winnie is sitting just next to the big doubles at slough (must be 7 years ago) when i was invited back to a veterans race and Winnie passed a couple of hours filling me in on the big gap of BMX history i had missed since i bummed out in 90/91. Told me i got a great deal on the complete bike i´d bought for the race (a TJ laven Specialized Fatboy, how the mighty have fallen....) and was smiling all day, loving reviling those glory days we both remembered and he was still living. It was like having a big brother there, although i knew others better, he was the man, what a blinding light to be extinguished. Rest in Peace Winnie, don´t even know how you went though i guess thats not important...
Respect
Endless days.....BMX in the 80s, it didn't get any better than that!

Delbert Husbands. Yes. Winnie, though sadly missed, but never forgotten.

If my memory serves me well. Did you not beat Gary Llewelyn at a Birmingham Wheels National? I recall being there and can say that a vast majority were screaming your name, egging you on to win. (my memory has not served me well trying to recount the year though!).
