yep Bath Somerset. The little guy front middle is Gary Smith, rode for MRD and his Dad Terry ran Bath Club.
Pic was about 85-86 at South Central Region Club Championships.
Perhaps after your time Drew

It's in my time, don't know anyone there. I thought the Myers ran the Bath BMX club. This might have been a seperate racing club though. Any help on this as I would add to the website obviously, if local.

Drew, wake up! in the pic standing at the back left to right Lee Angel, Hopsey(though he dont look a bit like that anymore!) Bernard Jobson, Paul (I think Jones not quiet sure) ? ? ?
front left to right. Conrad Wesson, Gary Smith (cant believe you dont recognise him) and ?
Keith Meyers ran Curtis Team, though NOT brian Curtis. whilst Den Meyers ran DGM. Their parents had the only bmx bike shop to be seen hanging around in Bath at the time. It was in Moorland rd. They then moved it to London rd in bath. Keith is gonna kill me but i cant remember their names. his dad has since passed on, and i think his mum is still with us.
The smiths did run bath bmx club along with others, the parents of Kristian Hancock i recall. But i think there were more. Hope this helps a bit. Ali

Hi ali,
back row, ME (Neil Hopes), Paul Jones, Richard Green
Middle row, Lee Angel, Bernard Jobson, Nicky Beer, Andy Kingston?
Front row, Conrad Wesson, Gary Smith, Nicky Kingston?

I think i bought my first cruiser off of Kristian Hancock. He was a tall guy if i remember.
Think the Meyers dropped out of BMX about 85ish

Got some old Bath programs somewhere, will have to dig them out

This is me jumping the old double stepdown thing on the 3rd straight :D

OK, fair enough. Just thought I'd seen that pic somewhere else.

Sort of recognise people there. Know the Hancocks well, they could remember me too.

So many faces to remember at that time, hanging around with so many groups of people, partying, BMXing looking for girls etc.

Will post on the website asap, hope to see you Sunday on cruisers.

Gary Smith here, my father (Terry) re-built the track during the mid-eighties and he, along with my mother (Wendy) helped to run the club. The Wessons (Conrad's parents), Drapper's, Jones' and others also kept the club running.

Happy days. It has been a long time since I visited the tumps but hope that it offers as much fun to the youngsters now as it did back in the day.

This is brilliant!
Paul Jones was my nemesis! only ever beat him once. I remember conrad as well. I used to go with a lad from keynsham called aaron inker, he sadly passed 26yrs ago with leukemia. Fond memories!

Gary Smith. You were a legend. Smallest but one of the fastest in your age. NEVER stopped pedalling lol. Do you remember everyone in my photo ? I remember your Mum & Dad running the club. See Paul Jones from time to time and have seen Conrad at Patchway a few years ago. I remember Aaron passing, far too young.
