Old hubs and Rims

I have been given a set of oldish BMX wheels TNT hubs with araya rims.

Any info about them would be good.

Are they worth stripping down cleaning and letting my 7 year old race on them?

Are they crap and need chucking out?

Are they worth anything to the old school crowd if they are old school?

Cheers.

strip them down and clean them and race them :)
lad has some Ukai rims on Suntor hums, now if that's not old school don't know what is..
he got rid of the Comp III's though.
but really nice and light old school at it's best,
£200 or £40 to do the same job.. ??

Will clean as per normal strip out bearings axles etc. but I don't know much about spokes tension etc is it best to get them built with new spokes or run them as they are just get then tension checked?

my lads originally came with araya's also so had to get them built up, but to be fair they were never tensioned, just built up and trued..
so as long as they are true and the spokes feel tight you'll be good to go, after all 7 year old doesn't have much weight and not jumping pro sets yet to need them tensioning up fully
as long they're true and spokes don't feel loose you should be good.
