I met Ross just after i started racing as a 18 year old, and would get blown away in every moto. It started to get me down, but Ross taught me that it was not important to win motos as long as i enjoyed being on my bike.
What an amazing friend, taken far too soon.
Peace and Love Ross

All my love and respect

The enquiry happened this week. Driver was not at fault it would seem. Ross was sadly laying in the road and the car couldn't stop. Made my heart drop when I read that. Guess we'l never know why/what made him lay down.... RIP ROSS

The story is quite graphic, here is teh link should anyone is interested. Hope that is ok Shirley

That is fine Dave and thank you for posting - we always knew that the driver was not at fault and he has not only received well wishes from friends and family but also a fairly detailed letter from me prior to the inquest which exonarates him from any blame in our eyes and I have been told that it was much appreciated. Guess he needed to lay down but, on this occasion, did it in the wrong place at the wrong time - typical Ross!!!

Always a pleasure to hear from you, Dave, if and when you have the time - just email me at whirleybird_dr@hotmail.com

Hope all is well with you.

A year today since Ross left us.
R.I.P. my son

His gravestone reads: Ross Michael Hill 17.2.77 - 29.9.07
"A natural rebel with a heart of gold and a passion for life"
R.I.P.

My message to him today is:

You left us a year ago ,
Miss you and your smiling face,
Sure you are watching though,
From your special place.
Every day, in every way,
You are in my heart and mind,
Although you’re gone forever, Ross,
You were a son who was ‘one of a kind’ !

Forever here , loved, and never forgotten for a moment.

Hello Shirley & Bill,
Some years ago we were good friends my two sons raced as well Terry & Scott Smith, we even stayed once with you,at your home, and we actually brought 'ROSS' home with us when we were at the finals in Belguim, and he stayed for a short time.

I know there are no words ......... you had a remarkably talented son, loved by all, and will be remembered always. It must be very hard for you to even try to understand why??? but to let you know our thoughts are with you.

Take Care. Audrey.

Two years on Tuesday and wow! what a lot has happened since then! Didn't know until the other day that 29th September is also a day of Angels - how appropriate maybe... Ross forever in my heart and mind and a declared holiday day for our workers as we are taking them all out to the beach for a lovely lunch xx

Shirley,

Glad to hear you and Charlie are back in DR. And wish you a great day with your "national holiday" down the beach with the workers.

Mum is off to put some flowers out from us both.

I shall be raising a toast to Ross (as per)

And will no doubt be in touch with Jimbo and R2, as well as Linds.

2 years eh? Remarkable.

Look after yourselves.

Love from me and Mum.

Will definately be doing my longest rollback ever for Ross, down the start hill at Norwich.
Will get to the triple , even if it takes all night.
