We drank a toast to Ross with our paella lunch (with lobster, huge prawns, mussels and other seafood) - he would have loved it......... I was sent this comment from a friend here today who never knew Ross but lost a loved young person 10 years ago and feel it is appropriate to share it will our BMX family so hope you like it -

Comets

An Angel Reminder – Here today, gone tomorrow, never forgotten.

Some people are like comets. They streak through our lives in a flash of excitement, love and awe. Then they are gone, never to be seen again, although we think of them often. Comet like people cannot be held onto or controlled. They need to keep moving, lighting up yet another sky. Sadly, some comet types die too young, and we miss them and grieve deeply in their absence. But the angels know that each comet person who has left the earth at a young age exists in a burst of light that remains for the good of those left behind. A comet would never want us to mourn its disappearance. So comet people want us to remember the joy they left behind and to allow the love we had for them to continue to grow, blessing others in its path.

Have you ever been touched by comet like people in your life? Did you allow them to leave freely with light and love, or did you mourn and suffer their loss for too long? Comet people teach us the highest form of unconditional love and acceptance. Next time you think of your comet people, cry a little if you need to. Then smile and send them a blast of love. This will give them a little extra fuel to shine a bit brighter wherever they are, and they will reflect the light back into your heart.

An Angelic Reflection – I know in my heart that love continues to grow across the barriers of time and space.

That seems sweetly apt (though possibly, a rather tenuous link) as Ross was part of the London Rocket People at some stage.

Rocket people, comet people - close enough. :D

Well, cheers to Ross as it would now have already been his 33rd birthday in the UK although it is not quite the 17th yet in the DR. Might be nice, if in February 2011, he could make up the trio with Rob and Winnie, his great mates, at the celebration of all their lives. RIP to all 3. What wonderful people they were in their own ways and, what is also true, is that they loved each other too.

Shirley

Ross, Winnie and Rob are all supporting 'Stay Strong for Stephen' that is for sure!

My glass is raised to Ross and his lovely Mum Shirley ,
At 33 today , no doubt Ross would have been riding Cruiser with Marco and all .
What a treat that would have been for all of us admirers of great riding skills .
Ross , Winnie and Rob , always remembered for very good reasons .
3 merry muskateers -- each in their own way -- all 3 of them characters , loved by the family of B.M.X.

I was wondering if there was any chance to get some good pictures of Ross up on this site. He was a fantastic guy who was also a hell of a rider!

Bought Steve Murray's Bicycles and Dirt vid earlier this year and by coincidence watched it for the 1st time today.
Ross was on it and looked like he was enjoying himself. I grinned.
Still doing massive fakies for him. X :P

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget....

Today, 29th September.... 4 years gone already, RIP Ross xXx
